A Cyber-Stein prize card almost toppled it's 2020 record and sold for $29,999.99.

On August 10 a Cyber-Stein graded PSA 10 sold on eBay for $27,611, after 29 bids. Two days later the same seller listed a second copy. That auction ran its full five days and closed on a single bid of $29,999.99.

The previous sales record is $30,100, from October 2020. In December 2019, PSA 10 copies were changing hands between $2,752 and $4,150.

Cyber-Stein was the first prize card the English Yu-Gi-Oh TCG ever awarded, handed to Shonen Jump Championship winners between December 2004 and July 2005. For 5000 Life Points it summoned any Fusion Monster straight to the field, which made it the engine of a one-turn kill deck. It went on the Forbidden list in December 2006, one of only two Shonen Jump prize cards ever banned from play.

About 18 copies were awarded across those two seasons. On February 7 and 8, 2009, Upper Deck handed out roughly 126 more at an event across North America, without saying in advance that Cyber-Stein would be among the prizes. Yugipedia records a $20,000 eBay bid that the bidder never paid and a resale at about $7,000. Copies later surfaced on singles sites for $400. PSA has graded 81 copies, 23 of them PSA 10.
