Does Facebook Marketplace notify you of new listings?

Yes, through saved searches. Save a search and Facebook will send you a period notification when there are new results.

Is it possible to make Facebook Marketplace alerts faster?

No. Facebook doesn’t send these out on a set schedul and there’s no setting to speed them up. If you want to check in on your search more frequently, open the saved search again to see what’s new.

On the desktop site, saved searches are called alerts.

  1. Search for your keyword

Search for the keyword and click “Notify Me”, on the left above the filters.

  2. Create an alert

A modal window will pop up where you can add a price range or change the area before the alert is saved. Click “Create alert”.

  3. Manage your alerts

In order to manage your alerts, go to Marketplace → Buying → “Your alerts”. Alerts can be toggled on or off individually.

You can also pause them on this page. As of September 2026, this is not possible in the Facebook app.

  4. Enable SMS or email notifications

You can enable additional alert channels by going to Facebook's notification settings.

Marketplace can be configured for Push, Email and SMS. This preference applies to all your alerts.

The honest answer

Are Facebook Marketplace alerts reliable?

The alerts are servicable for a casual search. The notification links straight to the listing, and your search filters are saved with the keyword. The alerts are ordinary Facebook notifications, mixed in with your likes and comments, so they’re easy to scroll past.

A great deal usually has replies waiting by the time the notification alerts to potential buyers so bargain hunting requires a more proactive approach.

FAQ

Frequently asked by fellow collectors.

01 Why don’t I see the Notify me button on Marketplace?
Not every account has it, and users report it coming and going between app versions and regions. If yours is missing, a GrailHound tracker does the same job.
02 Can I watch a different city on Facebook Marketplace?
Yes. Marketplace searches use the location and distance shown under the search bar, and a saved search keeps whatever you set. A GrailHound tracker watches the area you give it, too.
03 What is GrailHound?
GrailHound is a marketplace alert tool for collectors and resellers. You set up trackers for keywords and we alert you when they show up on one of your marketplaces. Our goal is to make sure that you are the first to the listing.
04 Why would I use GrailHound versus searching directly?
Hidden gems surface when you least expect them, and no one can search every marketplace all day. GrailHound keeps a constant watch, so you save the time and still catch your grails.
05 How often do you search?
The free plan searches up to 3 marketplaces every 30 minutes. Paid plans go up to 10 marketplaces and can scan every 2 minutes.
06 How are alerts sent?
Email, push notifications from the GrailHound app, or notifications in your browser. There are also webhooks for more technical use cases.
07 Am I notified of every single new listing?
Yes, if you want to be. You can also filter: set a price range, include or exclude keywords, or write an AI prompt that checks each listing before the alert goes out.
08 Do you buy or bid for me?
No. GrailHound is a monitoring and alerting tool.
