Does Craigslist notify you of new listings?

Yes. Save a search, tick its alert box, and Craigslist emails you when new posts match. The website sends email only. The app can also push.

Is it possible to make Craigslist alerts faster?

No. The saved searches page has one alert checkbox and nothing else, and Craigslist doesn't say how often the emails go out.

  1. Search and save

    Search for a keyword and click the bell to the right of the search box. Saving takes you straight to the “saved searches & alerts” page in your account.

  2. Enable email alerts

    Saved searches don't alert by default, you must check the toggle on the left on the search to activate email notifications.

    Craigslist will send you an email confirmation about alerts being activated.

For a casual watch, the email is enough. A cheap post usually has replies waiting by the time it arrives, and a search covers one area at a time.

    Enable your preferred notification method under “alert me about new results” and tap “save”.
